Woman killed in road accident in Derrylin

Gardaí and the Police in Northern Ireland have, once again, appealed to drivers to take care on the roads over the Christmas period following the deaths of two more people.

A woman in her 20s died following a single-vehicle crash in Derrylin, Co Fermanagh, last night.

She was a passenger in the car, which crashed on the Ballyconnell Road shortly before 11pm.

It's thought the victim was from the west Cavan area.

The PSNI said a number of other people in the car were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

A man in his 40s was killed in another single-vehicle crash involving a lorry in Beragh, Co Tyrone, yesterday morning.

The lorry driver was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash in the Moylagh Road area shortly after 7.50am.

Detectives investigating both incidents are appealing to anyone with information about what happened, or dashcam footage, to contact them.
