KATHRYN DOHERTY

late of Boulaglass Carrigatoher, Nenagh, Tipperary / Virginia, Cavan

Peacefully in the care of the staff at Deerpark Lodge Virginia Co.Cavan. Late of Boulaglass, Carrigatoher Nenagh. Predeceased by her beloved parents Barney & Joyce and her brother's Sean and Peter. Deeply regretted by her loving Aunts & Uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours, the residents of Deerpark Lodge and friends.

May Kathryn Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Ryans Funeral Home, Nenagh this Tuesday from 6 o'c to 7 o'c. Her remains will arrive at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Youghalarra on Wednesday for Requiem Mass at 11 o'c. Livestream of the Mass can be viewed here.

(née Donohoe)

Carrickmore, Ballyhaise, Cavan

Kathleen Gilsenan (née Donohoe), Carrickmore, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan, Sunday 15th December 2024, suddenly at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents John & Julia, her brother John, son Bernard, and granddaughters Lisa & Hannah.

Kathleen will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband Bernard, sons Barry (Annmarie), Declan (Rachel), daughters Martina (Alan), Lorraine (Richard), Julie (Declan), grandchildren Ben, Emma, Katie, Hannah, Noah, Grace, Annie & Richard Jr., Aunt Mary Cahill (Ballyhaise) Stepmother Patsy Donohoe and step-brother & sisters (Clones), relatives, neighbours and many close friends.

May her gentle soul rest in Eternal peace.

Remains reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Tuesday, 17th December, from 4pm to 7pm. Remains arriving to St. Brigid's Church, Killoughter, Redhills, on Wednesday morning, 18th December, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Margaret McGovern

(née Roche)

3 River View, Blacklion, Cavan

Margaret McGovern (nee Roche) 3 River View, Blacklion, Co.Cavan. December 16th, 2024, (Peacefully), surrounded by her devoted family and the staff at Oakview Nursing Home, Belturbet, Co. Cavan.

She will be very sadly missed by her loving husband Joe, daughters Mary (Joe), Margaret, Teresa (Thomas) and son Ken (Therese), granddaughters Áine, Aoife and grandson Tadhg, brothers and sisters and extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home address, 3 River View, Blacklion, Co.Cavan on Tuesday from 2pm to 5pm and again from 7pm to 10pm. Requiem Mass is at St Patrick’s Church, Killinagh, Blacklion on Wednesday morning at 11am followed by burial at Killinagh cemetery.

The McGovern family very much appreciate your kindness and support at this time.

Canon John Murphy

Bawnboy, Cavan

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Canon John Murphy, PE, who passed peacefully from this life with family in the care of College View Nursing Home on Monday 16th December 2024 in his 58th year of priesthood.

Beloved son of the late Mollie & James Murphy.

Sadly missed by his sisters Maureen (Jim, RIP), Kathleen (John) and his brother Paddy (Nora), his beloved nieces & nephews Nóirín, Caitríona, Siobhán, Fionnuala, Padráig, Bláithín, Mary-Rose, Seán, James & Yvonne, his precious grand-nieces & grand-nephews, all his extended family & friends, his bishop Martin Hayes, bishop Emeritus Leo O'Reilly and his fellow priests in the diocese of Kilmore.

Fr. John was a dedicated and cherished priest in the parishes he served, Cavan, Bailieboro & Kill, and respected teacher in St. Patrick's College, Cavan. He was much loved and loved each community he served in throughout his vocation.

Reposing at Lakelands funeral home, Dublin rd, Cavan on Wednesday 18th December from 5:00p.m until 7:00p.m. Remains arriving at St. Mogue's Church, Bawnboy on Thursday 19th for Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Catherine Lauterpacht

(née Daly)

Keady, Armagh / Castleblayney, Monaghan

Lauterpacht (nee Daly) Cambridge and formerly Clay Road Keady, Dec 11th 2024 peacefully in Addenbrooks hospital Cambridge, Catherine RIP. Beloved wife of the late Sir Eli and devoted mother to Conan, Micheal, Gabriel and Deborah. Loving sister of Mary (Boyd) and Kevin.

Her remains will arrive at St Patrick's Church Keady on tomorrow Tuesday at 6pm for overnight repose in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Funeral mass on Wednesday at 11am with burial afterwards in the church cemetery along side her beloved parents.

Deeply regretted by her loving sons,daughters, grandchildren, sister, brother and the entire family circle in England and in keady.On her gentle soul sweet Jesus have mercy.

James (Jim) Connolly

Ballincollig, Cork / Scotstown, Monaghan

On December 16th 2024, peacefully in St Christopher’s ward Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, James (Jim) beloved husband of the late Betty and loving father of Mary, Elaine (Murphy), Ger (O’Farrell) and Adrian and brother of Joe, Gene and the late John. Sadly missed by his loving family, sons-in-law Kevin and Brian, daughter-in-law Jan, grandchildren Aisling, Sarah, Seán, Conor, Joni and Jim, extended family, relatives, great neighbours and friends and his beloved dog Jess.

Lying in repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home Ballincollig Tuesday (17th) from 6.00pm with prayers at 7.00pm. Requiem Mass at 12noon Wednesday (18th) in the Church of St Mary and St John Ballincollig which can be viewed here.

The death has occurred of Brian Laide, Bree, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan, formerly of Rathdrum and more recently Aughrim, Co. Wicklow - Sunday, 15th of December at home.

Predeceased by his beloved parents, Maurice and Eva, and his cherished younger brother Dermot.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his devoted wife and best friend, Honora, his adoring children Dermot, Kevin, Natalie, Jennifer, and Naomi, and his treasured grandchildren Tess, Lucy, Morris, Hazel, Emily, Charlie, Mark, and Adam. Fondly remembered by his sons-in-law Cormac and Thomas, daughters-in-law Catherine and Claire, Natalie’s partner Ciaran, his brother Frank, sisters Eva and Eleanor, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Brian’s Funeral Cortège will travel from the family home (Hillview Bree) on Wednesday morning (18th December) to arrive at St. Mary’s Church Castleblayney for Funeral Mass at 12noon, with private cremation.

Mary Bernadette McKenna

Clara, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Mary Mc Kenna, Derrygorry, Emyvale, Co Monaghan on Monday 16th December peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her husband John and son Raymond.

Mary will be forever loved and cherished by her daughter Marie, son Fr. John, son in law Peadar, grandchildren Miriam and Sinead, great-grandchild CJ and extended family, friends and neighbours.

May Mary’s gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Mary will repose at Peadar and Marie’s home, Derrygorry, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, H18 XN22, on Monday the 16th of December from 6.30pm -10pm and on Tuesday the 17th of December from 12pm– 10pm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday the 18th of December in St Patrick’s Church Clara at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Eamonn WOODS

Terenure, Dublin / Carrickmacross, Monaghan

WOODS, Eamonn (formerly of Carrickmacross, Co.Monaghan and late of Terenure, Dublin) On the 13th December 2024, peacefully, in the excellent care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross and The Blackrock Clinic. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his beloved partner Janina, loving sister Mary (McCabe), brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Eamonn was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Val, sister Kathleen (Jackson), brother-in-law Henry and parents Edward and Bridget.

Eamonn will be reposing on Wednesday evening from 5pm - 7pm at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, 100 Terenure Road North. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Joseph's Church, Terenure arriving for 10am funeral mass, followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold's Cross. Family flowers only please, donation if desired to The Pat Cullen Pancreatic Fund.
