It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Patrick (Packie) Mulligan

Mullahoran, Kilcogy, Cavan

Patrick (Packie) died peacefully on Tuesday 10th December 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by his wife Josie, Sister Annie, Brothers John and Seamus. Sadly missed by his son John, daughters Vera Clarke (Lisryan), and Shelia Smith Mulligan (Redhills), sister Maura (U.S.A.) brother Benny (Birmingham), daughter-in- law Anne, son-in-law Anthony, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his son John and Anne's home Mullahoran (N39YW81) on Wednesday evening from 6pm. to 9pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12noon in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Mullahoran (N39HN84) Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Michael Joseph (Joe) Mc Parland

1 Elm Brook, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Michael Joseph (Joe) Mc Parland, 1 Elm Brook, Conabury, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan. Monday December 9th peacefully at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.

Joe, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his wife Helen, brother in-law Joseph Mc Connon, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Joe will repose at Wards Funeral Home Castleblayney (A75NP30) tomorrow Wednesday afternoon from 5pm until 8pm and again on Thursday from 1pm until removal at 2:45pm, proceeding on foot to arrive at St Mary’s Church Castleblayney for funeral mass at 3pm, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St Mary’s Church Repair Fund C/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box.

House strictly private please by request.

Michael (Mick) O'Neill

Glaslough, Monaghan, H18DT80 / Tyrone

O' Neill (Sillis, Glaslough Co Monaghan and formerly Drumlee, Benburb Co Tyrone), peacefully at Loane House, South Tyrone Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, Michael (Mick) beloved son of the late Arthur and Bridget and loving brother to Joe, Margaret and the late Betty, Molly and Bridie. May they rest in peace, Sillis, Glaslough, Co. Monaghan H18DT80.

Mick's remains will repose at his late home until removal on Thursday to Church of St Mary, Glennan for 11am Requiem Mass, burial afterwards in St Jarlath's Cemetery, Clonfeacle, Blackwatertown Co Tyrone arriving approximately 1pm. Sacred heart of Jesus I place all my trust in thee. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing brother, sister, sister in law Mary, nephews, nieces and entire family circle

Maureen Treanor (Johnny John)

Amackalin, Carrickroe, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Maureen Treanor (Johnny John), Birmingham, England and formerly Amackalin, Carrickroe, Co.Monaghan. Suddenly at her home on 15th November 2024.

Predeceased by her husband Louis, daughter Anita, parents John & Florence, brothers Eugene, Sean, Jimmy, Oliver and sisters Mairead & Goretti.

Maureen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Louise, Sharon, Declan, Caroline, their partners and her treasured grandchildren. Brothers Peter (Tyholland), Brian (Milltown), Fr Martin (Inniskeen), sisters Annie (Scotstown), Helen (London), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends in Birmingham and Monaghan.

Reception into St.Ambrose Barlow R.C Church, Hall Green, on Wednesday 18th December at 6pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 19th December at 11.30am followed by interment at Robinhood Cemetery.
