It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Michael Bolger

Ballygarrett, Wexford / Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Michael Bolger, Ballygarrett, Co. Wexford and formerly of Kingscourt, Co. Cavan who passed away peacefully on 4th December 2024, surrounded by his loving children under the care of the amazing staff in Baltinglass Community Hospital.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Iris. Deeply regretted by his daughter Madeline, sons Michael and David, daughter-in-law Annmarie. Sadly missed by his brothers & sister, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Hall Street, Kingscourt, (A82 R3W2), on Sunday, 8th December, from 4pm until removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, arriving at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, 9th December, at 10am, with burial afterwards in Bohernabreena Cemetery.

Mary Corr

(née Gibney)

Wateraughey, Ballinagh, Cavan

Mary Corr (née Gibney), Wateraughey, Corlismore, Co Cavan, Thursday December 5th, 2024, suddenly in the loving care of her family and the staff of the Coronary Care unit Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Brian and Nora Gibney, brother Seamus and nephew Patrick.

Mary will be very sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband Brendan, sons Bernard and Gerard (Deirdre), daughters Catriona and Carmel (John), granddaughters Michaela, Avah, Emma, Niamh, Aoife, sister-in-law Breege, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and many close friends.

Mary will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, H12RF78 on Friday 6th December from 6.00pm until 8.00pm.

Removal from her home on Sunday morning 8th December at 11.30am to St Michael’s Church, Potahee, to arrive for 12.00 noon Requiem Mass, with interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Jimmy Murphy

13 Market Avenue, Killeshandra, Cavan

Jimmy Murphy, 13 Market Avenue, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan, 5th December 2024. Died peacefully at home. Predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Winnie, brother-in-law John Joe. Very deeply regretted by his brother Paddy, sisters Rosemary, Mella Sheridan, Crossdoney, Anna Reilly, Lavey (Cyril), nieces, nephews, his good friend Kitty, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Jimmy will be reposing at Lawlor's Funeral Home Ernehill, Belturbet, Co. Cavan (eircode H14 R583) on Friday evening, 6th December, from 5.00pm until prayers at 7.00pm. Remains will arrive at St Brigid’s Church, Killeshandra for 11am Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, 7th December, with cremation afterwards in Lakeland Crematorium.

Eileen Evans

St. Patrick's Terrace, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Late of St. Patrick’s Terrace, Monaghan and Killycarnan, Castleshane, Co. Monaghan, December 5th 2024, peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Rose and Annie Evans and her sisters Margaret and Mary Rose.

Lovingly remembered by her niece Feiona Wake, nephews Paul and Michael Hawkins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the premises of McElvaney Funeral Directors, Church Square, Monaghan on Friday (06/12/2024) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Removal on Saturday (07/12/2024) at 10.30 a.m., arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Tyholland for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
