First count result expected shortly
Cavan-Monaghan Count starts at 10am and expected to run throughout the night.
A first count and result in Cavan-Monaghan is expected shortly after 10am, with last minute checks being conducted beforehand.
Returning Officer Joseph Smith expects that counting, and indeed recounting if necessary, will continue throughout the night and into the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Questions have been raised over more than 40 unperforated ballot sheets from one polling station in the constituency which were deemed invalid as a result.
Mr Smith informed the Celt this morning that he will make a comment on the matter once it has been fully investigated.
