Feargal Deery, non party
From Drumhillagh, Monaghan, Feargal is currently in custody in Cloverhill Prison.
Feargal describes himself as a family man. Married to Emma, they have one son and three daughters, who he loves dearly. "I have put them through a lot of pain, over the last probably 10 years, in my battle for justice," he said.
While not a member of any club, Feargal has worked from an early age. That has always been his "addiction", he says, from early mornings in the mushroom houses in and around Monaghan. Later he purchased a small licensed premises on Park/Market Street in Monaghan Town and, with the help of family and others, turned it into a successful business as 'Master Deery's' and 'The Junction Night Club'. However, he was evicted from the property in 2013. The property was subsequently purchased from a receiver in 2015.
He was jailed after the High Court found him in contempt of orders made in March 2020 in relation to a long-running dispute over the property.
Feargal is not affiliated with any political party as he does not believe any of them represent the working woman or man since this country was founded. (Some will question, if it was ever "founded", he says.)
Why did you get into politics?
Corruption is the name of the game worldwide and I am on a lonely mission to do the little I can to end same for all the families of Ireland. If we end corruption, we will all have a new, brighter and better Ireland for all.
What is your main campaigning issue?
Irish people have emigrated around the globe but none ever got a free meal. So our immigration policy should be the same. Let us look after our own first.
There are many other issues that need to be addressed and I have a full policy document on these, but they cannot be addressed in a sentence or two but Irish people know what they are. We are not a stupid people as some of the elites would like to think.
Put these in order of importance?
1. Health
2. Job Creation
3. Housing
4. Policing
5. Education
6. Roads
7. Defence
* I would have Corruption Number one.
Should Ireland sanction Israel and how?
Every and all sanctions should be laid at the Government of Israel.
What's the answer to the biodiversity/climate crises?
Just ignore it, it is just another form of taxation.
End the corruption!
Vote number one Feargal Deery.
