Cavan has secured its place six out of eight disciplines in the Ulster Scór na nÓg final at the end of the month.
Stradone hosted the Ulster Scór Semi Final last Sunday with Cavan punching well above its weight in terms of the competition overall.
The Cornafean club led the way with its competitors advancing in Solo Singing (Niamh McCaffrey with the Ballad of John Condon); Recitation (Áine McGivney reciting 'Doing the Double') and its hilarious Novelty Act trouple also qualifying for the next stage with their production 'Matchmaking'.
The Lavey instrumental group and Lacken set dancers were also successful.
Meanwhile, the Drumlane Ballad Group and Cornafean ceili dancers put in fine performances and represented their county but did not qualify on this occasion.
Well done to all the clubs that took part in Cavan Scór na nÓg table quiz in Stradone Community Centre last Thursday night. A special thanks to question master Liam Rabbitte, and everyone who helped out organising the quiz. After an extremely close contest Cornafean emerged winners by just one mark. Well done to Drumlane who took a close second place and congratulations also to Ballymachugh who placed third.
The Ulster Scór Final will take place on November 30. Best of luck to all the competitors.
