Bawn singer to launch new album
Country singer-songwriter Kevin Logue will launch his new album 'Without Compromise' at the Townhall Arts Centre this coming weekend, Saturday, November 23.
Hailing from Templeport, when not behind the wheel of his truck Kevin is known for crafting songs that resonate with raw, genuine emotion that defines the genre.
He grew up was immersed in the music of legendary artists such as John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, and Merle Haggard and these influences have deeply shaped his own musical style, which is characterised by heartfelt storytelling and a timeless, down-to-earth sound. Kevin's musical journey is as diverse and as it is impressive. He has performed at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, opened for Steve Forbert, and toured with Michael English and Mick Flavin. His songs, recorded by artists like Mick Flavin and the late Porter Wagoner, with his song 'The World Made A Man Out Of Me' even featuring on The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville thanks to the late Eddie Fitzsimons. Kevin's music also played a creative role in setting the tone for the film ‘No Party for Billy Burns', written and directed by fellow localman Pádraig Conaty and starring Kevin McGahern.
At the Townhall Kevin, backed by a full band, will perform material from his new album 'Without Compromise', and draw from his extensive back catalogue for what promises to be an entertaining evening of music.
Earlier this month Kevin released 'Perfection On A Beautiful Design', his first single from the upcoming album release, which has already received extensive radio play.
Tickets for the Cavan Townhall launch cost €20. Doors open 7.30pm, with show starting at 8pm.
