It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie over the past few days.

Vincent Fagan

5 Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

We are saddened to announce the passing of Vincent Fagan, 5 Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff. He passed away on Monday 18th November peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, children, father, brother, nephews, nieces, other family members and his close friends.

Reposing at 5 Kilmore Willows (A82YT99) on Thursday from 6pm-8pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at 11am at Word of Life Centre (A82F3F6). The funeral cortège will travel to the Church of Ireland cemetery (A82P597) in Ballyjamesduff.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Cavan General Hospital especially the Oncology department, the Palliative team, CUAN, WOLIM, family, friends and all who cared and supported Vincent with so much love.

The death has occurred of Jacinta McBride (née Tighe). 'Ballymackney School House', Dundalk Road, Carrickmacross & formerly Drumconrath, Co. Meath. 20th November 2024. Unexpectedly, at her home.

Predeceased by her father, Michael and her father-in-law, Michael.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by her heartbroken family; her husband Colm, her children Orna, Gina & Colm, her mother Ita, her sister Fiona (Aidan), and her brothers Derek (Alice) & Stephen (Gillian), her mother-in-law Nora, her brothers-in-law Jim (Pauline) & Maurice (Deirdre) and her sister-in-law Ann (Seamus), her extended family, friends and neighbours.

Jacinta will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Friday, 22nd November, from 3pm until 8pm.

Jacinta's funeral cortège will leave her home, Dundalk Road, on Saturday, 23rd November, proceeding to St. Enda's Church, Killanny, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Catherine Monahan

(née Skinnader)

Tiernaneill, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Catherine Monahan nee Skinnader, Tiernaneill, Monaghan. Sunday 17th November in Beaumont Hospital Dublin after a short illness surrounded by her loving family and nursing staff.

Predeceased by her husband Michael and parents Owen and Bernadette.

Catherine will be forever remembered lovingly by her brothers Cormac (Bernie), Fr John, James (Breda) & Frank (Geraldine), brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family, friends and neighbours.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace

Catherine’s remains will repose at McMahons Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Thursday from 3pm - 8pm.

Catherine’s remains will leave McMahon's Funeral Home on Friday morning to arrive at St.Patrick's Church, Corracrin for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery

Gerard Owen Courtney

Solihull, Birmingham, England and formerly of Corrnaure, Broomfield, Monaghan

Gerard Courtney, formerly of Corrnaure, Broomfield, Co.Monaghan died on 11th November 2024, peacefully in the care of Marie Hospice, West Midlands, Marsh Lane, Solihull. Predeceased by his father Tommy, mother Mary, brother Jimmy and sisters Bernadette and Marie. Sadly missed by his brothers Paddy, Eamon, Michael, sister Kathleen, nephew, nieces, relatives and friends.

Funeral service will take place on Monday, 9th December, at 12:45PM in Robin Hood Cemetery, Streetsbrook Rd, Shirley, Solihull, B903NL, United Kingdom.

Noel Mc Kenna

The death has occurred of Noel Mc Kenna (Doc Diesel), Modeese, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan. Tuesday, November 19th, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his daughter Denise, sister Jenny and brother Vincent. Remembered with love by his sons Peter and Gerry, Gerry's wife Geraldine his grandchildren, Matthew (Alia), Chloe (Cian), Dylan, Abigail, Wee Peter, Elizabeth and Noel, his adored great-grandchildren, sisters Nan, Margaret and Betty, brother Seamus, extended family, especially Joan, neighbours and many friends and family both here in Ireland and America.

Noel will repose at Wards Funeral Home, Castleblayney (A75NP30) on Wednesday afternoon from 4pm until 8pm. Noel's funeral cortège will leave from his late residence in Modeese on Thursday morning to arrive St Mary's Church, Castleblayney for funeral mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

James (Jim) Morrow

Corconnelly, Clones, Monaghan, H23PN79

The death has occurred of Jim Morrow, Corconnelly, Clones Co. Monaghan (H23PN79), Monday 18th November 2024, after a short illness, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Bridget and Frank and his brother Sean.

Beloved husband of Helen and much loved father of Sinead, Aiveen (Martin) and Eoin (Shauna). Jim will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughters, son and their partners, sisters Mary (Rafferty, John) and Patricia (Carr, Michael), nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, many friends and by all who knew and loved Jim.

Jim will be repose at the family home Corconnelly, Clones (H23 PN79), on Wednesday 20th from 3pm until 9pm. Cremation service will take place in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd, Cavan (H12RF78) on Thursday at 12noon.
