It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan as reported on RIP.ie over the past few days.
Joyce Farrell
(née Faulkner)
Main Street, Nobber, Meath, A82K0Y2 / Kingscourt, Cavan
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Farrell, peacefully, surrounded by her family. Late of Nobber, Co.Meath and formerly of Kingscourt, Co. Cavan. Joyce was the beloved the wife of Dudley, adored mother of Brian, Alan and Niall, cherished grandmother of Ted, Rafi, Beauden and Brú and loving mother in law of Aoibheann and Lucy. Joyce will be forever loved and sadly missed by her brothers Michael and Pat, her sisters Anne, Barbara, Christine and Róisín along with her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, her aunt and uncle, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and large circle of friends.
May Joyce Rest In Peace.
Reposing at her residence on Saturday from 2 O'Clock to 8 O'clock. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11.15 am in St John the Baptist Church, Nobber. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Arthritis Ireland. House private all day Friday and Sunday morning please.
Clare O'Dowd
(née Rudden)
Aughnaskeagh, Mountnugent, Cavan
Clare O'Dowd, (nee Rudden) Aughnaskeagh, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan and formerly of Crosserlough Co. Cavan, Thursday, November 14th, (suddenly but peacefully), at Cavan General Hospital. Pre-deceased by her husband Pat, brother Patsy, sisters Kathleen Magee and Monica Fitzsimons (Virginia). Deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews; Thomas, Norbert, Gerry and Carmel (Fitzsimons) and Finbar, Patricia, Denise and Michael (Rudden),nieces and nephews in law, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Rest In Peace
Funeral Mass on Sunday (17th) in St. Brigid's Church, Mountnugent at 11am. Burial afterwards in Ballinacree Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of College View Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Clare during the past year.
PJ Taggart
Loughmuck Road, Fintona, Tyrone / Omagh, Tyrone / Cavan Town, Cavan
Taggart PJ (Fintona) Co Tyrone, formerly of 148 Loughmuck Road Fintona, died peacefully in The Royal Hospital, Belfast surrounded by his loving family, on the 13th November 2024. Beloved husband of the late Bernie (nee Hagan). Treasured father of Paddy (Deirdre), Brian (Caroline), Paula Farrell (Owen), Mary McNelis (Paul), Louise, William (Claire) and Niall (Grainne). Loving and devoted grandfather to his 13 grandchildren. Cherished brother of Mamie, Liam, Eileen, Brendan, Dermot, Kieran, Gerry, Nuala, Mark and the late Bettie, Brenda, Raymond and Donal.
PJ will be reposing in Grianan House Funeral Home, 4 Carnalea Road, Fintona, BT78 2BY from 2pm until 9pm each day, on Thursday 14th November and Friday 15th November 2024.
PJ’s remains will leave his late residence at 1.30pm on Saturday 16th November for 2pm Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Drumragh, followed by his burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

For those who wish to show a presence on the funeral route PJ will travel from the Loughmuck Road, and along the Fireagh Road to arrive at St. Mary’s Church for 1.50pm.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, in laws, nephews, nieces, and entire family circle and friends. Our Lady pray for him.
Margaret Devine
(née Prunty)
Marian Row, Castlebar, Mayo / Castleknock, Dublin / Annyalla, Monaghan
Margaret Devine (née Prunty), 14th November 2024, Marrian Row, Castlebar and late of Navan Road, Castleknock and Annyalla, Co. Monaghan, peacefully in her 91st year, surrounded by her family in the dedicated care of the staff in the ‘Carra Suite’, Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar.
Pre-deceased by her parents Edward and Agnes, her beloved husband Séamus, brothers Mick, Fr. Tony, Eamon, Patsy and Malachy, sister Babsy (Rose) and son-in-law Seán Gannon
Sadly missed by her five daughters Úna, Catherine, Eibhlín, Dympna and Máiréad, her adored grandchildren Dónal, Colm, Fiona, Patrick, Cian, Grace, Íosaf, Ana, Oisín, Tomás, Aoibheann and Niamh, sons-in-law Joe, Ger and Colin, sisters-in-law Kateen and Peggy, nephews, nieces, her extended family circle and many friends.

Margaret will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, F23 XY63, on Sunday (17th November) from 5.00pm -7.00pm. Cremation Service will take place on Monday (18th November) at 12 noon in Shannon Crematorium, Co. Clare.
