Education appointment for Cootehill's McKiernan

Cootehill native Ruairí McKiernan has been appointed chief executive of the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA).

Founder and former CEO of the pioneering national youth organisation Spunout, McKiernan has also served on the Council of State for seven years as an appointee of President Michael D Higgins.

IDEA has over 120 members involved in the practice, promotion and advancement of Development Education in formal, non-formal and informal settings.
