Gardaí investigate spate of Cavan burglaries
Gardaí are appealing for to the public for information following a spate of reported burglaries across Cavan in recent days and weeks.
In Cavan house a vacant house in the Keadue area was entered illegally between 4pm on October 16 and 5pm on October 17.
A sum of cash, an engagement ring, an eternity ring and a gold necklace were all stolen during the break-in, all of which hold huge sentimental value to the homeowner.
At Corrygarry, Canningstown, near Cootehill, thieves struck whilst homeowners were attending Mass on Saturday evening, October 19, between the hours of 7:15pm and 8:15pm.
The house was forcibly entered and rooms ransacked, with a brown lady's handbag containing a sum of money stolen.
Also in Cootehill area, Gardaí are investigating a burglary on the same date (October 19) that occurred on Station Road between 7:10pm and 8:30pm where a significant amount of jewellery, including gold rings, chains and bracelets were taken.
