Cloudy weekend ahead with some drizzle

Mostly cloudy with some rain and drizzle at first. Clearer, cooler and sunnier conditions developing from Sunday. That's the weather outlook for the weekend.
Mostly cloudy today, Friday, with occasional rain and drizzle, mainly in the west and south, persistent at times in the southwest. There'll be a few patches of mist and hill fog too. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresher near Atlantic coasts.
Mostly cloudy conditions will persist tonight, although a few clearer breaks will occur too. Patchy rain, drizzle, mist and fog will be most widespread in Munster. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds.
Saturday will be another mostly cloudy day with a few patches of light rain or drizzle along with some hill and coastal mist and fog. Some limited bright or sunny spells will occur too. More persistent rain will develop in the west and southwest later in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in light to moderate southeast winds, fresher at times along Atlantic coasts.
Often cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle overnight on Saturday. A clearance to mainly dry and cooler conditions will push into western and northwestern coastal counties towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds, veering westerly with the clearance.
Damp and mostly cloudy in the east to begin on Sunday with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Drier, brighter and cooler conditions in the west will gradually extend countrywide in the afternoon. After a mild and humid start in the east, it will turn fresher with the clearance. Afternoon highs of 12 to 15 degrees in mainly light westerly breezes.
Sunday night is expected dry with variable cloud and clear spells. Colder than recent nights with lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in a light westerly or variable breeze with a few patches of mist and fog forming around dawn.
Monday will be a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in light, variable breezes.
Continuing dry on Monday night with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees, in light northwest or variable breezes, with areas of mist and fog thickening towards dawn, and a touch of frost possible too.
Dry Tuesday with a mix of cloud and sunny spells for many with just the chance of isolated showers. Highest temperatures or 9 to 12 degrees. Light westerly or variable breezes.
Further Outlook: High pressure still dominating overall, but with the chance of rain or showers at times. Temperatures close to the seasonal norm.
