A personal service a Lakelands Crematorium

Since its establishment in 2015, Lakelands Crematorium has helped funeral directors and the families they serve to carry out the last wishes of their departed loved ones. How people mark the passing of a loved one is hugely significant in how they cope with the loss and, as part of that, cremation is something that more and more people, of all ages and backgrounds, are considering in their end-of-life plans.

Religious ceremonies, as well as civil and humanist services, are regularly celebrated at Lakelands Crematorium.

Each service is uniquely designed to best reflect the life of those being remembered.

Ian Fee is the in-house, accredited, civil celebrant who has over 30 years' experience working with families and funeral directors to plan a meaningful and truly personal funeral service, whether that is religious, spiritual or completely secular.

Ian was recently awarded the Funeral Celebrant of the Year award at the Northern Ireland Funeral Awards ceremony in Belfast.

The whole team at Lakelands - from the office and front-of-house personnel who are very much the warm and welcoming face of the crematorium, to those who carry out the process of cremation - all share the same commitment and dedication where the needs of the bereaved families are paramount in their work.

Traditional and innovative

The crematorium provides for two service rooms, which can accommodate large crowds or more intimate services. A large screen allows for photo slideshows or videos to be played and music to suit the service can be downloaded and played at the family's request.

Along with the actual crematorium itself, Lakelands offer a memorial garden and a columbarium or memorial wall where urns can be reserved. A memorial tree bears the names of some of those laid to rest at the facility - a loving reminder in a tranquil setting.

Services can meanwhile be viewed through their dedicated webcam, accessible through the Lakelands website, allowing family and friends to be virtually present at their loved one's service. This is password protected.

Trusted service

Lakelands Crematorium is based on the outskirts of Cavan Town. It is easily accessible and the overall process of planning for a cremation, along with the necessary administrative requirements is very straightforward. Many funeral directors have made Lakelands Crematorium their preferred choice for cremation services in Ireland.

Lakelands is open seven days a week, with Declan Finnegan and his team ready to assist in whatever way they are needed.
