Hospital ED in "escalation" again
Cavan General's Emergency Department remains in 'Escalation' for a second day running according to hospital management.
A notice issued yesterday afternoon cautioned of "significantly high levels of activity" and "high numbers of patient presentations" to the Emergency Department.
This is the second time in two weeks Cavan General has issued a 'hospital escalation' notice.
"All patients should be advised of significant delays and limited bed capacity at present," wrote Su-Zann O’Callaghan, General Manager, Cavan & Monaghan Hospital to local media outlets and GPs in the region. "If any alternatives to an Emergency Department referral are available these should be explored as a priority.
"We are still providing full emergency care if it is required."
