It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan, as reported on RIP.ie over the past few days.
John Armstrong

John Armstrong, Breandrum, Cavan, Sunday October 20th 2024, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth, sister Emily.
Dearly loved husband and best friend of Ann, loving father of Neil (Brigitta), Jean (PJ), Irene (Brendan) and Deirdre (Paddy).
Remembered with love by his wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, daughter in law, sons in law, sisters Eileen and Doreen, brother Robbie, extended family, neighbours, relatives and good friends.
Resting at the family home, tomorrow Monday from 2pm until 8pm. Family time thereafter please. Removal from the family home on Tuesday at 1.30pm arriving at St. Fethlimidh`s Cathedral, Kilmore for funeral service at 2pm, followed by burial in Kilmore Cathedral Parish Graveyard. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to Patients Comfort fund, Cavan General Hospital c\o William Foster, funeral director, Ricehill, Crossdoney, Cavan.

(Beaumont, Dublin and originally of Cootehill and Cavan).
Peacefully, in the tender care of the staff at The Residence, Carton, Raheny.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Paddy, her brothers Fr. Eugene and Seán Dowd and her sister Clare McGrath.
Beloved mother of Oliver, Padraig and Eugene and loving mother-in-law of Tynagh, Emer and Helmert.
Noreen will be very sadly missed by her sister, Philomena Dowd (Loreto), devoted grandchildren Daniel, Eva, Ellen, Jennifer, Shona, Katie, their husbands and partners, also her great grandchildren Theo and Alex and by a loving circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and good neighbours.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock on Wednesday October 23rd 2024 between 2pm and and 4pm, followed by removal to The Church of The Holy Child, Whitehall, D09E2R2 arriving for prayers at 5pm on Wednesday October 23rd.
Funeral Mass at 10.30am on Thursday October 24th 2024 followed immediately by burial in Dardistown Cemetery.

The death has occurred peacefully of Monica O' Reilly (nee Baxter), Island, Virginia, Co. Cavan at Oakview Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her father Senator P F Baxter, her mother Nora, her husband Peter, her sisters Una, Maura and Ursula and her brother Colm.
Much loved mother of Declan, Brendan, Helen, Una, John, Monica and Fintan.
Sadly missed by her sons and daughters, her sons in law, her daughters in law, her 17 grandchildren and 3 great grand children, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Monday evening from 5 o'clock until prayers at 8 o'clock.
Removal to St. Bartholomew's Church, Munterconnaught on Tuesday arriving for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Annagola, Ballinode, Monaghan
Carson (nee Simpson) 19th October 2024 Betty, peacefully at Drumbear Nursing Home and formerly of Annagola, Ballinode, Co Monaghan. Beloved wife of the late John and dear mother of Ruth, Tommie, Ruby and Willie.
Betty’s remains are reposing at her son Tommie’s home Santa Maria, Drumbear, Cootehill Road, Monaghan, H18XN73 from 1pm until 8pm on Sunday 20th October.
Funeral Service on Monday 21st October in St Dympna’s Parish Church, Ballinode, at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
Very deeply regretted by her sorrowing sons, daughters, son-in-law Gerard O’Hanlon, daughter-in-law Barbara, Tommie’s partner Patricia, Ruth’s partner Eddie, grandchildren Jason, Dwayne, James, Alan, Pamela, Christopher and Eleanor, great grandsons Lee and Toby. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Ballinode Church Repair Fund and Drumbear Nursing Home c/o the family.
