Nobber collision claims life of man in 80s

Road closed overnight for technical examination

Gardaí are at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision in Nobber, which has claimed the life of a man in his 80s. The collision occurred at about 5pm this evening, Tuesday, on the R162 Nobber to Kingscourt Road.

The two-vehicle collision involved a car and a van. The deceased man was driving the van.

The two occupants of the second vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance services and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The scene of the collision is currently preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The R162 Kingscourt to Nobber road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place. The road will remain closed overnight.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling between Navan and Kingscourt on Tuesday evening between 4.30pm and 5.30pm are asked to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
