Dates of lump sum payments announced by Cavan Monaghan Minister

10 lump-sum payments totalling over €1.4bn are to be issued before Christmas as part of the Department of Social Protection’s effort to ease the Cost of Living burden.

Minister Heather Humphreys announced earlier today that payments to support families, pensioners, carers, and people with disabilities will be issued within the next few weeks.

Funds include the allocation of the October double payment which is set to benefit 1.4M people; two double payments of Child Benefit which will issue before Christmas; and the €400 Disability Support Grant, and €400 lump sum payment for Carers will be paid next month.

Also secured as part of Budget 2025 was a €300 Fuel Allowance lump sum payment which will be allocated during the week of November 4 to over 387,000 households. At the same time, a €400 lump sum Working Family Payment will be issued to 46,000 households.

An allocation of a €200 lump sum payment to the almost 254,000 people in receipt of the Living Alone Allowance will be made during the month of November and there will be a €100 child support payment - formerly known as ‘Qualified Child’ - on the week commencing November 25. It is expected that over 340,000 children will be supported through that payment.

Meanwhile, the Christmas Bonus double payment will issue during the week commencing December 2. “I am pleased to announce today the payment schedule for 10 lump sum payments announced last week as part of Budget 2025,” added Minister Humphreys. “These payments totalling over €1.4bn will support our pensioners, carers, people with disabilities and families over the coming months.

“Budget 2025 represents the largest social protection budget package in the history of the State. The blend of lump-sum payments to support people over the winter months together with weekly rates and a range of targeted supports is designed to ease the financial pressure facing many households across the State.”
