‘Give and Take’ at Teach Oscail

Include Youth recently launched its expanded ‘Give and Take’ programme into the Cavan and Monaghan areas.

Partnering with Tusla the programme will empower care-experienced and young people from disadvantaged communities.

The programme, run from Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre in Cavan Town, is designed to equip participants with essential life skills, qualifications, and employability training; while also fostering personal development.

The initiative reflects Include Youth’s ongoing commitment to transforming lives and creating opportunities for young people throughout Ireland.

Speaking after the launch, Include Youth CEO Diane Hill said they were “thrilled” to celebrate the occasion.

“Young people from the Cavan/Monaghan areas can access this tailored support of the Give and Take programme,” she beamed.

The launch event featured inspiring testimonials from previous participants who shared how the programme has positively impacted their lives.

Their stories highlight the profound change that tailored support and mentorship can bring, reinforcing Include Youth’s mission to unlock the potential of young people.

“There was a fantastic energy to the day and the potential is evident,” Diane observed.

“There is a strong partnership between Tusla and Teach Oscail and we are excited to see how together we can help young people in these surrounding areas thrive in their future.”

For over 45 years, Include Youth has dedicated itself to supporting care-experienced young people and those from disadvantaged communities.

Funded through Dormant Accounts funding, Include Youth have partnered with Tusla, Cavan Monaghan Education Training Board on educational aspects of the programme with Teach Oscail.

Manager of Aftercare Services Sean Blackwell welcomed the expansion of the initiative, describing how services have “struggled” to get the support necessary to meet the education and training needs of young adults.

“In the short time that Include Youth are operating in Cavan Monaghan they have proved that they can meet the needs of these young adults.

“I can see already that they are making a massive difference in these young adults lives,” he said.
