Lester Gordon to contest Dáil seat as Independent

Finea native Lester Gordon, has announced his intention to run as an Independent candidate in Cavan-Monaghan Constituency at the upcoming General Election.

Mr Gordon, who says he has received “huge support” to contest the election told The Anglo-Celt this week that once his run in the local elections ended it was inevitable he would enter the General Election arena.

He emerged as a “dark horse” in last June’s local elections, eliminated only on the eighth and final count in the Ballyjamesduff Electoral Area.

His trot towards the finish line - which lasted two days - was steady and he proved to be transfer-friendly too.

Mr Gordon was pipped at the post by Cllrs Noel Connell (SF) and T.P. O’Reilly (FG).

His General Election campaign will focus on justice, taxation and corruption.

“People know that I’ll deliver because that is what I do,” concluded Mr Gordon, who insists he has the financial backing and manpower on the ground to stage his campaign.”
