Cavan Library Service to mark National Public Libraries Day 2024

Libraries across Cavan will be among the more than 300 libraries marking National Public Libraries Day 2024, which takes place on Saturday, 28th September.

National Public Libraries Open Day is an initiative to promote the role of public libraries in Irish society, raise awareness of the range of services they provide, and encourage people to become members.

To coincide with the Day, the ‘Take a Closer Look’ campaign is encouraging people to check out the wide range of free services open to them through their libraries, with over 12 million items available to borrow, including the latest bestsellers, ebooks, eAudiobooks, emagazines, CDs and DVDs, digital magazines, newspapers, online courses and online newspapers.

Events in Cavan Library branches will include tea and coffee available to visitors in the morning, children’s storytime, demonstrations of our online services, and much more.

Contact your local branch for a full listing of events or visit www.cavanlibrary.ie
