Kingscourt farmer to run in General Election for Irish Freedom Party
'I'll be fighting for the people of Cavan - Monaghan,' - Val Martin
Local farmer Val Martin has been nominated as Irish Freedom Party General Election candidate for the Cavan - Monaghan constituency.
Mr Martin is a farmer in Kingscourt and former Garda Detective Sergeant based in Cavan Town and County Monaghan.
He'll demand that Irish families are put first in the social housing list and will demand an end to discrimination against Irish people in planning laws.
"In order to give Irish people a chance to acquire a family home in the current housing market, immigration and thus housing demand must be strictly controlled. We need to put the needs of Irish people in our own country first as it's not our duty to house the whole world."
Well known in many livestock marts, Mr Martin has opposed the Green Party agenda, which he describes as "crazy". He is particularly opposed to the carbon tax, which he deems "extortionate, unnecessary, and unjust".
He believes in "a clean and green Ireland in which people of rural Ireland can make a living and have a future in a safe and secure country."
Mr Martin is also against the country being covered in wind turbines or pylons, which he describes as "unsightly".
In conclusion, he says he will undertake to fight for the freedom and prosperity of the people of the Cavan - Monaghan area.
