Clarity sought on housing grants

"Clarity" is being requested on a number of housing support grants.

Cllr T.P. O’Reilly (FG) received unanimous support for his motion calling for “clarity” from Housing Minister, Darragh O’Brien on housing grants, which he believes “favour urban development as opposed to rural development”.

The calls came at the September meeting of Cavan County Council’s of elected members at Cavan Courthouse last week.

“I would like to see a bit more balance to all of this,” Cllr O'Reilly told those gathered.

"I feel that some of the grants available now are more geared towards urban settings than rural and I would like to see that changing.”
