It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie.

Donal Brady

Aughafad, Longford Town, Longford / Cavan

Donal , Aughafad, Longford, formerly of Gurteen, Arva, Co Cavan, 16th September 2024, peacefully at the Mater Hospital, Dublin surrounded by his family.

Pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Catherine, sister Patricia, brothers Paddy, Thomas, Philip, Fr. Charlie, Gerard and Fr. Vincent.

Donal will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his beloved wife Mary, daughters Catherine (Paul), Sinéad (Myles), Valerie (Gary) and Marie (Stephen), son Dermot (Annmarie), sister Kathleen, brothers James and John Joe, grandchildren Jack, Darragh, Tom, Charlie, Alice, Jamie, Lara and Joe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday 19th September from 4.00pm concluding with prayers at 8.00pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday 20th September in the Church of the Sacred Heart Carrickedmond at 12 noon, interment afterwards in Carrickedmond cemetery.

Pat Cosgrove, High Barnet, London and formerly Pullaghrea, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. Friday, September 6th (peacefully) in the loving care of his devoted wife Peggy. Predeceased by his parents Thomas & Margaret, sisters Maura & Rosetta and brother Hughie. Survived by his wife Peggy (née Galligan), nieces, nephews, the extended Cosgrove & Galligan families, his neighbours and friends.

Funeral arriving to St. Joseph's Church, Drumkilly (A82 V049) on Friday (20th) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Artane, Dublin / Bailieborough, Cavan

Mullane (née, Love) Sylvia (Artane, Dublin and formerly of Bailieborough, Co. Cavan) September 15th 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of John and loving mam to Lorraine, David and Jennifer. Sadly missed by her family, daughter-in-law Aoife, son-in-law Keith, grandchildren Cara, Sophie, Emmie and Kate, extended family friends and neighbours.

A special thank you to St. Francis Hospice Home Care Team and all the staff at Beaumont Hospital for their care and kindness shown to Sylvia.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home on Thursday, 19th September, from 6pm to 8pm. Removal on Friday afternoon, 20th September, to Dardistown Crematorium for a Service at 1.30pm, followed by Cremation.

The death has occurred of Bernie Sherry (née Crush/Treanor), Annacalkill, Scotstown, Co. Monaghan, H18 DD34 and formerly Dundian, Emyvale, Tuesday, 17th September at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents, Francie and Nan Treanor.

Bernie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her husband, Pauric; her son, John; her daughter, Hannah; her brothers Frank, Raymond (Patricia), and Bob (Majella); her sisters Mary (Paddy) and Teresa (Damian); as well as her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and a wide circle of family and friends.

May Bernie’s gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Bernie will be resting at the family home (H18 DD34) on Wednesday from 12 Noon and Thursday. Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 Noon at St.Mary’s Church, Urbleshanny. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
