Doran Motors team exhibit at Virginia Show

The unseasonably wet and windy weather threatened to spoil the Virginia Show but the team at Doran Motors were among exhibitors to brave the elements.

The crowds still turned up in their droves to the show in good humour and merriment. The Doran Motors team were thrilled to have the opportunity to exhibit at the 81st Virginia Show last week. They hadn’t been to the show for a number of years due to Covid and various other commitments so appreciated this chance to participate.

“It was fantastic to be back, exhibiting our amazing brands and talking with the people,” said Sales Director, Carol Kerr, who together with her team, donned her rain proof gear and braved the elements.

She praised the organisers of the Virginia Show for the “wonderful job” they do each year displaying all elements of local agriculture. “They also provide local businesses with trade stands to showcase their products such as the one taken by Doran Motors this year,” said Carol.

Doran Motors showcased three of the Hyundai range; the Ioniq 5, the new Tucson and the all-new Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe in particular attracted a lot of attention with people marvelling at the new shape and interior design.

There was also an Isuzu D-Max on exhibit, which caught the attention of many farmers due to its immense strength and versatility.

But the star of the show was an offering from Citroen, with its compact Ami captivating each passerby. The Ami is a two-person smart car, which is quite the head turner. A lot of show goers took a photo of themselves in the car as they wanted to record the moment they encountered the Ami.

Carol confirmed: “It was a real conversation piece on the day – with lots of people asking questions about it and its capabilities.”

The Ami was accompanied by the Citroen Berlingo van, which stood next to it to give a sense of scale. The Berlingo comes in two-wheel lengths and various power trains.

It is a versatile van that continues to prove a firm favourite for farmers and tradesmen alike. Doran Motors consider the Berlingo one of the most comfortable vans on the market with memory foam seating for all passengers. These elements, coupled with its attractive price point, make it one of Ireland’s best-selling small vans.

When asked how the Doran Motors team enjoyed the Virginia Show, Carol confirmed that herself and the team had a great day despite the weather.

“It is so important to get off the forecourt with the vehicles and exhibit them on a wider scale.

“It is also lovely to speak with people who are interested in the cars, we also enjoyed meeting lots of our own customers for a catch up.”
