Vincent’s Cavan to hold €2 warehouse sale

In an era when a cup of coffee costs almost €3, to fill your car requires your pin, and even the price of a pint has headed north of a fiver, there a fewer opportunities than ever to grab a bargain. Not so this coming weekend, Saturday, August 31, when Vincent’s Cavan will host a massive end of Summer ‘Warehouse Sale’ with thousands of “pre-loved” items available, from clothing to toys, homewares and accessories, all for only €2 each.

The event takes place at the Ozanam Centre, located just off the Bridge Street Car Park and close to where the Vincent’s shop is already located.

Running for four hours, from 11am until 3pm, payment for goods is by cash only and is strictly first-come-first-served.

It follows the success of a clearance pop-up shop that took place in Monaghan last year.

The local event, says shop manager Léan Brady, highlights two of the St Vincent de Paul retail network’s main organisational goals - to raise funds to help those most needy, and also reduce landfill while promoting a circular economy.

“We support the circular economy by keeping used and pre-loved goods in circulation, thereby extending their life-cycle and reducing the burden on landfill.”
