Museum seeks third curator in three years
The Council has advertised the vacant post of curator at Cavan County Museum.
Applications are currently being invited from suitably qualified persons for the position, with an interim curator to be announced in “due course” a spokesperson previously confirmed. The vacancy arises after former curator, Holly Roche, departed the role.
Ms Roche took up the post in 2022, following the retirement of Savina Donohoe who had been curator at Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff since 2015, and acting curator since 2008. Earlier this year the Crosserlough native was appointed to the board of Pobal by Minister Heather Humphreys. Before taking up the post in Cavan, Ms Roche had worked for more than a decade as House and Collections Manager with the National Trust in Fermanagh.
The advertised position comes with an annual salary of between €55,090 to €67,304. The deadline for completed applications is Friday, September 13.
Following Ms Roche's departure from the role, Cavan County Council said: “Holly Roche has departed Cavan County Council to explore new opportunities. We wish her well in her future endeavours and thank her for her efforts. The appointment of an interim curator will be announced in due course.”
