Testing continues on Annagh Group Water Scheme supply
The Do Not Consume Notices remains in place.
The Do Not Consume notice attached to the Annangh Group Water Scheme which is impacting drinking water in the Redhills and Ballyhaise areas of Cavan is to remain in place while testing continues.
The Notice was imposed three weeks ago due to elevated levels of Nitrite in the drinking water. Cavan County Council is currently endeavouring to obtain three consecutive ‘clear’ tests of the water before the Notice is lifted.
In a statement to the Anglo Celt this morning, the local authority says it has been “very active” in addressing the issue. “Cavan County Council has arranged for further monitoring of the Scheme which was scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, of this week, August 19 - 21, and this is ongoing,” the statement continued.
“Pending the results of this monitoring, Cavan County Council in consultation with the HSE will evaluate the necessity or not for the Do Not Consume Notice to remain in place.
“Results of this testing are expected later in the week. Further updates can be obtained by contacting Annagh Group Water Scheme.”
