Cavan Rose "excited" for live interview tonight

Through a whirlwind of hair, make-up and rehearsals Cavan Rose Grace Farrelly managed to steal five minutes from her hectic schedule to speak with The Anglo-Celt.

The Nolagh native has been relishing in the atmosphere in Kerry as she awaits her live interview tonight, when she will be the fourth Rose to be interviewed in the Dome.

She described the atmosphere around her, having just got her hair styled as she awaited the arrival of her make-up artist.

“It’s absolutely brilliant, all the girls are on a high at the minute.

“We’re all here chatting.. It’s the final night of this journey that we’ve all been on so it’s crazy but it’s so lovely at the same time because it’s been such a positive one [journey].

“We’re having such a good time.”

“It’s been just about one of the best experiences of my life, I’ve made lifelong friendships.”

The English and sociology student said the support from her fellow Roses has been “brilliant.”

“Obviously, myself included some of the girls are a bit nervous,” she said, explaining how they have been reassuring each other by saying “we’re in the front row, we’re here.”

“It’s just so nice,” she beamed.

Having watched the rest of the Roses perform since the festival began on Friday (August 16), Grace laughed an excited and nervous laugh when asked how she feels about stepping on stage tonight.

“To be honest the only thing I’m worried about is that I’m a bit hoarse but I’m hoping that’ll be gone by tonight.”

The nineteen year old said she is “looking forward” to representing herself, her family, her county and the entire community.

“I get to represent the morals and the values of Cavan and it’s such a privilege and I feel really excited to do that.

“Obviously I will be nervous right before I’m about to walk on stage but I’m more excited than anything.”
