It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Cavan and County Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie.

Peter (PJ) Dolan

Glenrevagh, Carnmore, Galway, H91YC5Y / Corlough, Cavan

PJ Glenrevagh, Carnmore, Co. Galway, Corlough, Co. Cavan and New York, passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at The Galway Clinic on Sunday 11th August with his loving wife Mary at his side.

Predeceased by his parents Peter & Helena, his brothers Paddy & Johnny, sister Mary, nephews Seamus and Brendan and niece Marian.

Survived by his loving wife Mary (neé Reilly, Gardenfield, Tuam), brother Hugh, sister-in-law Frances, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home at Glenrevagh, Carnmore (H91YC5Y) on Tuesday evening from 5 o’c until 7 o’c.

Funeral Mass in St. Columba’s Church, Castlegar (E91 E4C9) at 11.30 o'c on Wednesday, followed by private cremation at Shannon Crematorium.

Peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown

Predeceased by her Husband Micheal (six weeks ago), daughter Fidelma and son in law Peter O Brien

Kathy will be very sadly missed by her sons Fintan and Damien, daughters in law Shannon and Edel, grandchildren Ava, Faye, Lorcan, Fiadh, Finn, Jenna, Joe and Lara, brother Johnny, sister in law Rose, nieces Aisling and Siobhan, relatives and friends.

May Kathy Rest in Peace.

The death has occurred of Francie Matthews. Derryolam, Carrickmacross. 11th August 2024. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by his wife Lizzie, his son-in-law Joe McNally, his parents Kevin & Teresa and his brothers Pat, Harry, Michael, Brendan & John.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family; his sons Francis (Frances) & Andrew (Jane) and his daughters Mary & Pauline, his much-loved grandchildren Cian, Euan, Dáire, Elly, Kate & Tom, his sisters Kitty Crosby & Phyllis Sullivan, his extended family, friends & neighbours.

August 10th 2024, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his wife Eileen (née Treanor) and his son Kieran, his parents Pat and Bridget, sisters Mary and Agnes and brother Packie.

Sadly missed by his loving sons Seamus (Trish), Michael (Michelle) and Damien (Linda), daughters Caroline (Mickey) and Aileen (Noel), grandchildren, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at his home on Sunday (11/08/2024) from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Monday (12/08/2024) from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Family and close friends on Tuesday morning please.

Removal on Tuesday (13/08/2024) at 10.15 a.m. arriving at St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Latlurcan.
