Motorcyclist dies following road traffic collision on Cavan Longford border

The incident happened at around 1am.

A man in his 30s has died following a road traffic collision outside Drumlish, in Co Longford in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí are currently at the scene of the collision which occured at Kilnashee at approximately 1am. They were alerted to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist.

The R198, Longford to Drumlish Road, remains closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They also want to speak with road users who have camera footage - including dash-cam - who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident.
