Gardaí and Fire Brigade at scene of fire in North Dublin

There has been a partial building collapse during a fire at an industrial estate in Dublin.

Six fire engines are fighting a very large blaze at an industrial unit in North Dublin.

It's off the Oscar Trayor Road in Coolock.

Smoke from the blaze can be seen across the city, even as far as St Stephen's Green.

Dublin Fire Brigade has advised local residents to close all windows and doors to protect from smoke.

In a statement from gardaí, they said: "Gardaí from Santry Station are currently providing assistance to Dublin Fire Brigade at an industrial fire occurring at a premises in the Clonshaugh are of Dublin 17."

The smoke plume is close to Dublin Airport. However, a spokeswoman for airport operators DAA said flights were so far unaffected.

“A fire in the Santry area is resulting in smoke blowing towards the airport this evening. This is not impacting on operations at the airport and flights continue to operate as normal. The airport team, in collaboration with AirNav Ireland, continue to monitor the situation,” the DAA spokeswoman said.

It is understood the incident is not believed to be connected with recent fires at the Crown Paints site around 3km away.
