New footpath sought in Virginia
There’s been a call for a footpath from the new library carpark in Virginia to the old graveyard.
Cllr T.P. O’Reilly made the request at the July meeting of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District.
He said a lot of people are coming in and out to maintain the grounds.
Area Engineer, John McGahern, responded that parking on Main Street in Virginia “isn’t exactly plentiful."
Noting that it is mostly older people who are visiting the graveyard, he committed “we’ll find the money somewhere to do it".
