Three homes set to go under the hammer

Three attractive properties are set to go under the hammer next month in an auction conducted by Raymond Smith Auctioneers.

First up is a two-bedroom cottage on almost 17 acres in the Drumavaddy area of Carrickaboy.

Although in need of refurbishment, the house itself extends to 68.6 sq m and would be an ideal project for a DIY enthusiast. The house also qualifies for the Vacant Home Refurbishment Grant and is subject to full planning permission for an extension.

The sale is the first of four lots being sold including Lot 2, which comprises 11.201 acres and a hayshed.

All land has been set out for grazing and features an historic ring fort at the top. The land boasts good road frontage and was recently reseeded.

The third lot includes three well-proportioned fields, all of which are set out for grazing; while Lot 4 comprises the entire property on 16.87ac, which is being marketed as having strong potential.

Meanwhile, in Co Leitrim, at Coranagh, Carrigallen, a traditional country-style house on 0.42ac with roadside site is also for sale with an asking price of €80,000. Again, the property qualifies for the refurbishment grant and also includes an on-site garage. And, a quaint cottage in a tranquil setting on a 1ac site at Coolkill, Kilnaleck, Co Cavan, has made its way onto the market with an asking price of €45,000. Nestled among mature native trees, the property is in need of refurbishment and features a large secure shed to the rear. It is in close proximity to the nearby towns of Kilnaleck, Ballyjamesduff, Virginia and Cavan Town.

An online auction in respect of the properties takes place on Thursday, August 1, and will be overseen by Raymond Smith Auctioneers.
