Mix of cloudy and hazy, sunny spells

Areas of mist and drizzle will become mostly confined to eastern and southeastern coastal parts during the morning. Much of the country will see a mix of cloud and some hazy sunny spells for a time. However, cloud will thicken across west Munster, Connacht and west Ulster through the afternoon and evening with outbreaks of rain gradually pushing in off the Atlantic. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees, warmest in the midlands and east with moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Cloudy with rain becoming widespread and turning heavy at times. It will be humid with temperatures not dropping below 12 to 15 degrees in mostly light southwesterly or variable winds.

Saturday morning will be wet with rain in most areas, heavy at times. Rain will gradually clear eastwards through the afternoon and evening with sunny spells and a few showers following from the west. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees with light southerly breezes becoming northwesterly and freshening as rain clears.

Saturday night will be cooler and fresher with clear spells and a few showers in the west. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate westerly breezes.

After a mainly dry start, rain will develop in the west during the morning and then spread eastwards to all areas through the afternoon and evening. A cooler day with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds.

A wet night overnight on Sunday with widespread rain. It will gradually clear much of Munster and south Leinster overnight with scattered showers following there. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with light southerly or variable winds.

Monday will be a bright, fresh day for most with sunny spells and scattered showers. However, it will remain cloudy over much of Munster with rain developing in the southwest later in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees with moderate west to northwest winds.

Becoming mainly dry and clear Monday night apart from some outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 with light northwesterly winds.

Tuesday looks like being mainly dry apart from some patchy light rain or drizzle. Sunny spells will turn hazy through the day before cloud builds in the southwest through the evening. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees with light westerly or variable winds.

Current indications suggest that it will continue largely unsettled next week with further showers and rain.
