Over €330K of cannabis seized in Belturbet

Two men arrested

Gardaí have arrested two men following a seizure of over €330,000 of suspected cannabis following a raid in Belturbet, Co Cavan, yesterday (Wednesday), July 17.

A search was carried out at a suspected grow house, which led to the seizure of cannabis worth €334,000.

Some €44,000 worth of cannabis plants and €290,000 in cannabis herb was discovered at the property. The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) to undego further analysis.

Two males (30s) have been arrested in connection with this seizure and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a garda station in the North Western region.

Investigations are ongoing.
