Police in Belfast attacked with petrol and paint bombs

Police have been attacked with petrol and paint bombs in Belfast.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) urged the public to avoid the Broadway Roundabout area in the south of the city.

In a statement issued on Monday evening, a PSNI spokesperson confirmed officers had attended reports of "ongoing disorder in the area".

The spokesperson added: "Petrol and paint bombs have been thrown at officers and police vehicles."
