Largely dry and warm day ahead

Weather update from Met Éireann

Weather conditions will be changeable and unsettled this week but warm where sunshine gets through.

Monday morning will be dry over the northern half of the country with sunny spells, after any overnight fog or mist clearing. A cloudier start further south with scattered outbreaks of showery rain moving northwards, turning persistent and heavy at times across southern and eastern counties. Highs of 15 to 21 degrees, coolest across the Southeast and warmest over Ulster. Southeast to east winds will be light, though fresher along southern coasts to begin.

Damp, locally wet conditions will clear eastwards early tonight. Dry conditions will follow but with the chance of some mist. Mild and humid with lows of 12 to 14 degrees in just light westerly breezes.

Tuesday will rather warm with a mix of cloud and sunshine. While there will be a lot of dry weather, some well scattered showers will occur. Highs of 18 to 22 degrees in just light to moderate westerly breezes.

Largely dry overnight on Tuesday with clear spells and just stray light showers. Lows of 10 to 14 degrees in light southwest or variable breezes.

Sunny spells early on Wednesday but overall cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing. Some midland and eastern areas will stay fully dry however with possible warm spells of sunshine. Humid with highs of 17 to 21 degrees, all in moderate southerly winds.

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle following overnight. Lows of 10 to 15 degrees, in light variable breezes; coolest in the clearance later across Connacht.

Dry for a time on Thursday across the North and West with warm sunny spells. Dull or cloudy elsewhere with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, moving northward later. Highs of 17 to 21 degree in light southerly breezes. Rather warm and humid overnight with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle with low cloud and mist too.

Friday currently looks like a dull, wet and rather breezy day nationwide. Highs of 16 to 20 degrees.
