Three injured in Drumconrath collision

The very popular parish priest of Drumconrath, Fr Finian Connaughton, was injured in a car accident yesterday (Thursday) and is currently being treated in the Mater Hospital.

He was one of three people injured in the accident near Mandistown Cross, Drumconrath in a two car collision.

Fr Connaughton was airlifted from the scene by air ambulance while two women who were also injured were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Drumconrath Community Alert posted on their Facebook page; "Please keep Father Finian in your prayers he is recovering well in hospital.

"Mass tonight is for The Glass Family members and they have kindly agreed to include Fr Finian and the other people involved in the accident in this Mass. All are welcome to attend."

Fr Connaughton had celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Ordination to the Priesthood just last month.
