Dry day but cloudy overall

Generally cloudy conditions with showers or outbreaks of light rain at times over the coming days in mainly light winds. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Dry for many today but scattered showers will slowly spread from the northwest through the morning and afternoon. A cloudy day overall, the best of any sunny spells will develop in the south and east later in the afternoon and evening but remaining quite cloudy in the northwest. Some patchy drizzle will push into northwestern coasts this evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in a light northerly breeze.

Mainly cloudy tonight with isolated showers and a few drizzle patches spreading southwards across the country overnight. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees in light variable winds.

A cloudy start tomorrow with outbreaks of light patchy rain and drizzle spreading southwards over the country. Sunny spells will develop through the day with further scattered showers developing also. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in a light northerly or variable breeze.

Becoming mainly dry overnight on Saturday with clear spells as showers become isolated early on in the night before eventually dying out altogether. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees. Mist and fog patches forming overnight in light variable breezes.

A dry start for many on Sunday with sunny spells. Scattered showers will develop through the morning and afternoon. Turning cloudier in the south and west later with rain and drizzle moving into the southwest during the evening. Some coastal mist or fog also. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light to moderate southerly or variable winds.

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move in over Munster early on Sunday night, spreading to parts of Connacht and Leinster overnight. Remaining drier over Ulster with some clear spells and just isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in a light easterly breeze.

Cloudy on Monday with showery outbreaks of rain spreading across the country from the south, possibly turning heavy and thundery at times. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in light easterly veering westerly or variable breezes.

Rain and cloud will continue to push northwards Monday night with clear spells and drier conditions following the clearance over much of the southern half of the country early on. Showers will move into Atlantic coastal counties later in the night. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in a light westerly breeze.

Tuesday is likely to see scattered showers moving in from the west and spreading across the country. After a mostly cloudy start some sunny spells will develop through the day. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees in a light to moderate west to southwest wind.

Current indications suggest that it will be largely unsettled next week with further showers and rain.
