Turning drier as sunny spells develop

Weather update from Met Éireann

Dry for many over the weekend, though there will be scattered showers at times. Temperatures recovering slightly, though remaining just below average. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Cloudy to start today with outbreaks of rain and drizzle lingering in Leinster and east Munster, and isolated showers elsewhere. It will turn drier through the morning as the drizzle clears and sunny spells develop, with just well scattered showers for the rest of the day. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees in a light to moderate northerly breeze.

Tonight will be mainly dry apart from a few light showers in the west and north. Clear spells to start but it will turn cloudier over the western half of the country later. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in light northerly or variable winds.

Tomorrow (Friday) will be a cloudier day overall with the best of any sunny spells in the east and southeast. Dry for many but scattered showers will slowly spread from the northwest through the morning and afternoon. Some patchy drizzle will push into northwestern coasts later. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees in a light northerly breeze.

Friday night will be mainly cloudy with isolated showers and a few drizzle patches spreading southwards across the country overnight. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light variable winds.

A cloudy start to Saturday with scattered showers. Sunny spells will develop through the day with further scattered showers developing also. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in a light northerly or variable breeze.

Mainly dry overnight on Saturday with clear spells and just isolated showers. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in light variable winds.

Sunday will bring a dry start for many with sunny spells. Scattered showers will develop through the morning and afternoon. Turning cloudier in the south and west later. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light to moderate southerly or variable winds.

Cloudy on Monday with showery outbreaks of rain spreading across the country from the south, possibly turning heavy at times. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light to moderate northwesterly winds.

Current indications suggest that it will be largely unsettled for the early days of next week with further showers and rain.
