Claire Brennan

Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan / Kells, Meath

The death has occurred of Claire Brennan, Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan and formerly Crossakiel, Kells, Co. Meath on the 8 July 2024, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital following an illness borne with great dignity, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her grandparents Sean and Peggy Brennan and Henry and Elizabeth Daly. Much loved daughter of Thomas and Barbara and adored sister of Susie, Raymond & Erin, Ross, Ian & Jenny. Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, sister, brothers, her nephews and nieces – Dylan, Conor, Emily and Eve, her aunts, uncles, grandaunts, granduncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Wednesday evening from 6pm until prayers at 8pm. Removal to St. Dympna’s Church, Upper Lavey on Thursday morning arriving for 12 noon Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium at 1.30pm.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross. House Private Please.

The family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady's Hospice, St. Vincent's Hospital and Cavan General Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Claire and support they have received.

(née Rothwell)

It is with deep sadness that the Cahill family announces the sad passing of Monica Cahill peacefully in the care of the staff at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her husband Peter (P), parents John-James and Annie, brothers Thomas, Charlie and John, sisters Marie and Nancy and granddaughter Molly Anne.

Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, daughters Frances (Stephen), Rosaleen (Karl), sons Peter (Ursula), Kieran (Gráinne), sisters Theresa, Rosaleen and Frances, her adored grandchildren Cian, Áine, Leah, Peter, Halle, Jake, Adam, Amy, Cara, Aoife and Grace.

MAY HER GENTLE SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Reposing at her home, Granard Street, Ballyjamesduff on Wednesday 10th of July from 4-8pm. House private at all other times please. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Thursday in St. Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery.

John Hannon

Raheny, Dublin / Ballyconnell, Cavan

Hannon, John, 8th July 2024, (Raheny and formerly of Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, retired from Eircom), Quietly in the amazing care of the team in Our Lady’s Ward in the Mater Hospital with his family by his side. Former husband of Ann and father of John, Karen, Rachel, Julian, Annmarie, Orla, Jason and Sinéad. Predeceased by his son Baby Peter. Grandfather of 12, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Will be missed by many.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Rd, Coolock on Thursday afternoon, 11th July, from 2pm to 4pm. A private family service will be held to celebrate the life of John on Friday, followed by burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.

Ann Kelly

Belturbet, Cavan / Skerries, Dublin

Ann Kelly, late of Belturbet, Co. Cavan and Haverfordwest, Wales, 8th July 2024, peacefully at Bartra Nursing Home, Loughshinny surrounded by her loving family. Sadly missed by her brother John, sisters Helen and Catherine, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lannon's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm. Removal Thursday to St. Patrick's Church, Skerries for 10am Funeral mass, followed by cremation at Glasnevin Crematorium.

The death has occurred of Micheal Lynch "Kirkview" Stradone St., Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, suddenly at Cavan General Hospital on the 7th of July 2024. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Philomena and his brother Stephen. Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife and best friend Eileen, his family David (May), Stephanie (Jason), Gavin (Jo), Barry (Blathnaid), his grandchildren Troy, Sara, Michael, Jack, Eimear, Patrick, Isabella, Lucy, Cillian, brothers Leonard and Darragh, sisters Diane, Aidine and Karen, Uncle Dom, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relations and friends.

Cait will be reposing in Finnegan’s Funeral Home, Cavan from 20:00 - 21:30 tomorrow (Wednesday). Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Glangevlin on Thursday morning for funeral mass at 12:00 noon with burial afterwards in a joining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Geraldine Armstrong (nee Boylan), 25 Killyneill, Tyholland, Co. Monaghan, Friday, 5th July 2024, suddenly and unexpectedly. Predeceased by her parents Mick and Maureen, brothers Raymond (Ned) and Mickey, nephew Aidan, father-in-law Packie, brothers-in-law Michael and Mickey Kelly.

Beloved wife of Gerry and adored mother of Natasha (Stephen Mc Donnell) and Michaela (Pearse Leonard). Geraldine will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, daughters and their partners, much loved grandchildren Naoíse, Frankie, Fiadh and eagerly awaited grandchild due in two weeks, her sisters Sheila, Maureen, Kathleen, Margaret and Anne and her brothers Nicholas and Maurice, mother-in-law Cissie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, neighbours, her work colleagues,neighbours, many friends and by all who knew and loved Geraldine.

The death has occurred of Frank Connolly, Corbrack, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan. Monday, July 8th, suddenly but peacefully at his residence. Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Rose, brothers Brendan and Gerry and his sister May.

Frank, deeply regretted and remembered with love by his heart broken family, his wife Patricia, daughter Carmel, son Francis, son in-law John Keogh (Moate), his cherished granddaughters Cara and Holly, sister Eileen (New Jersey), brothers Dan (Ballybay), Charlie (Dublin) and Johnnie (New Jersey), sisters in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and his many friends young and old especially those within his beloved Drumhowan GFC.

Franks funeral cortège will leave from his residence on Thursday morning at 10:30am (driving) to arrive St Patrick’s Church, Ballybay for funeral mass at 11am, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Cornamunady, Monaghan Town, Monaghan / Leitrim

The death has occurred of Patricia Hoey (née Reynolds) of Cornamunady, Monaghan Town and formerly Sonnaghconnor, Aughavas, County Leitrim.

Retired teacher, St. Louis Secondary School, Monaghan.

Died peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jack and infant daughter Niamh.

Daughter of the late Julia and Francis Reynolds.

Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her sons Ciarán and Fiachra, her daughter Aisling, daughters in law Fiona and Claire, grandchildren Thea, Alex and Tadhg, sister Bridgie, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, extended family and her many neighbours and friends.
