Launch of the Breffni Challenge

WHERE: Breffni Arms Hotel.

WHAT: You are invited to attend and meet with representatives of the three charities which benefit from the event. In its 23 year history, the Breffni Challenge has raised well in excess of €1million for cancer care and research.

Suntown: Granard’s Midsummer Festival

WHERE: Granard.

WHEN: July 5-7.

WHAT: Inspired by the olden Gaelic term Grian Árd which relates back to Granard being a beacon hill and sacred site. The official opening will take place on Friday July 5th at 7.30pm in Granard Townhall, with thanks to Longford Library Services.

Summer Gala Concert

WHERE: The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule

WHEN: Saturday, July 6, 8pm.

WHAT: Featuring The Gateway Singers, Buncrana, Paul Hennessy and other guest artists. A raffle will also be held on the night with some lovely goodies up for grabs. All proceeds in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Association, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland Longford and Palliative Care Longford. Tickets €10 and are available from The Alzheimer Society office on Earl Street, The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule, Mollaghan’s Dublin Street and many other outlets throughout the county. Lavey Ladies Fun Run

WHERE: Lavey Community Centre

WHEN: Sunday, July 7. The race starts at 11:30am with registration from 10:30am onwards.

WHAT: The annual fun run (5k and 10k). Some of the proceeds will be donated to the Help Mags Find Relief fund. Great way to get out and support a good cause, everyone is welcome.
