A Mine of musical potential

A raucous new single is the opening shot in a busy few months for Cavan band Mirrorglass.

‘Let’s Go To Mine’ is the third single by the young fourpiece and will be released on Friday, July 19.

Coming in at just two minutes the riff-laden ‘Let’s Go To Mine’ is a short sharp shock that muscles its way in somewhere between hardrock and punk. Lead vocalist, Joshua Bowles (18), delivers a powerhouse vocal performance that echoes Axl Rose at his snarling best.

Musically the band says it doffs a cap to classic Motorhead courtesy to the pounding drums from Shane Galligan (17) and Rowan Davis’ (17) pulsating bass line.

“We’re thrilled to finally share ‘Let’s Go To Mine’ with the world,” says Joshua Bowles, the band’s frontman and lead guitarist.

“This song represents the pure rock ‘n’ roll spirit of Mirrorglass, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience the energy and passion we poured into it!”

A music video and behind the scenes footage is set to be released alongside the song. The Backstage Pass, a behind the scenes series is set to have its first episode launched alongside the single on YouTube and at full length on Patreon.

To mark the ratcheting up of their profile, Mirrorglass are set to play a launch gig in The Soundhouse, Dublin on Sunday, July 21 with the support slots filled by Dublin bands Pinstripes and Speakers.

All the summer activity is gearing up towards their eagerly anticipated debut mini-album which is set for release on September 13. As yet untitled, the seven track album will also include Mirrorglass’s two previous singles, ‘Hey Honey!’ and ‘Where Will You Go?’ Mirroglass deservedly won Cavan Institute’s ‘Win Big Song Contest’ earlier this year with ‘Where Will You Go?’, a startlingly good track which reveals a more tender side to the band.

Recorded in Neal Calderwood’s (formerly of Scheer) ‘Manor Park Studio’, ‘Let’s Go To Mine’ will be available on all major music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
