Toyota kicks off ‘242’ as market leader
Hybrid motoring continues to gain momentum with Toyota dominating, closing out the ‘241’ new car registration period in pole position with 22.52% locally, up from 20.65% for the same period last year.
It means that almost one in four new cars purchased in the first six months of this year in County Cavan bore the Toyota badge.
The local Toyota dealership, Erne Motor Works, and the Toyota brand, is proving extremely popular with local motorists as it continues to perform ahead of the national trend.
Toyota, nationally, achieved a 14.79% passenger market share in the ‘241’ period.
Cavan’s leading car brand, Erne Motor Works, currently has five of its hybrid models named in the top 10 best selling cars in the Breffni county, according to recently published figures by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI).
Dara Fitzpatrick, dealer principal at Erne Motor Works, commented: “We enjoyed a very busy ‘241’ registration period and are delighted to finish the first half of the year with five of our Toyota hybrid models in the top 10 best-selling cars in Cavan, including the Yaris Cross, RAV-4, C-HR, Yaris and Corolla.”
He’s optimistic for the second half of the year and the ‘242’ sales period with advance orders strong.
