It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

John Fitzpatrick

Dernaglush, Belturbet, Cavan

John Fitzpatrick, Dernaglush, Belturbet, Co. Cavan 26th June 2024. Peacefully in the loving care of staff at Oakview nursing home. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife Eileen (née Corrigan), son Daniel, sister Chrissie, brother-in-law Noel, Trudy and Kathleen, nephew, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Remains will be reposing at Lawlors Funeral Home (eircode H14 R583) on Friday evening, 28th June, from 6.00pm until prayers at 8.00pm. Remains will arrive for funeral mass at 12 noon on Saturday at Church of Immaculate Conception, Belturbet with burial afterwards in Staghall Cemetery.

Mary Maguire

(née Beatty)

Toberlion, Ballyconnell, Cavan, H14 R620 / Thurles, Tipperary

Peacefully at St Luke's Hospital, Rathgar, Dublin, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary, and brother James (Junior) Ballingarry, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband Paddy, children James (Annemarie), Padhraic (Gillian), Shaun (Trina), Honora (Padraig), Madeline (Colin), Ronan (Claire), Aonghus (Mary), and Cathal, Brothers Fr John, Edward and Patrick, Sisters Margaret, Noreen and Ellie, beautiful grandchildren, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her residence tomorrow evening, Friday, from 5 o clock until 9 o clock. House strictly private at all other times please. Removal on Saturday morning arriving at St Patrick's Church, Kilnavart for funeral mass at 12 o clock with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Margaret (Maggie) McDonagh

Townspark, Cavan Town, Cavan

Margaret (Maggie) McDonagh, Beloved wife of the late Martin, Townspark, Cavan Town. Tuesday June 25th peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road Cavan today Thursday from 4.00pm until 6.00pm.

Requiem Mass tomorrow Friday at 11.30 am in the Cathedral of Ss Patrick and Felim Cavan, Interment afterwards in Cullies Cemetery

Bridie Wedgeworth

(née McKenna)

Corraghy, Bailieborough, Cavan

Bridie Wedgeworth (neé McKenna), Corraghy, Bailieborough, Co Cavan died on the 26th June 2024 peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Annie, her sisters Mary and Ann and her brother Francis.

Sadly missed by her loving husband James, her sons and daughters Anne, James, Joseph, Kathleen and Sheila, son-in-law Stephen, daughter-in-law Mary, granddaughters Lauren and Siobhan, nephew Patrick, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Clarke's Funeral Home, Bailieborough on Friday 28th June from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral on Saturday, to arrive at St. Anne's Church, Bailieborough for Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. The funeral can be viewed live via St Anne's Church Webcam. Burial afterwards in St. Anne's Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care c/o any family member, funeral director or online.

Maeve Tully

2 Cathedral View, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Maeve passed away in Cavan General Hospital on Thursday 27th June in the loving care of her sister Patricia , She was predeceased by her father Matthew, her Mother Margaret, Brothers Barry and Colm. Maeve will be sadly missed by her loving sister Patricia, her Nephew and Nieces, her wider family circle, her many close friends and neighbours. Maeve will repose at McMahons Funeral Home Mullan Road Emyvale from 4 pm to 7pm on Friday 28th June.

Maeve's Requiem Mass will take place at 11am in St Macartan's Cathedral Monaghan Saturday 29th June with Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery Latlurcan.
