It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Mickey O'Reilly

Corraweelis, Carrickaboy, Cavan

Mickey O’Reilly, Corraweelis, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan. Tuesday June 25th 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the staff at Cavan General Hospital. Pre deceased by his beloved wife Kathleen. Loving father of Michael (Joanne) Pauline (James) and Diane (Michael). Mickey will be very sadly missed by his loving family, his adored grandchildren, Amy, Jamie, Dylan, Darren, Evan, Emma and Nicole, all his relatives and many, friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Mickey will repose at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan H12C821, on Friday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Saturday morning , travelling Via Corraweelis to St. Matthew’s Church, Drumavaddy arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery.

Rosetta Reehill

(née Reilly)

Clonoose, Ballyheelan, Kilnaleck, Cavan

The death has occurred of Rosetta Reehill (née Reilly) Clonoose, Ballyheelan, Kilnaleck, Cavan. Former Labour Party councillor candidate in Upminster. Monday 24 June 2024, peacefully in the loving care of Fountains Care Home, Rainham, London.

Predeceased by her Late husband Gerry Reehill of Longford Town, her sister Anna and brothers Hugh, Packie, Jim & Eddie. Rosetta will be sadly missed by her daughter Loretta, son-in-law John, Velvet, loving friends, family, sisters Kay and Josie, brother John, sister-in-law Kathleen, brother-in-law Andy, all her extended family, friends & neighbours.

Funeral Directors are Hornchurch and Essex Funeral Services and flowers by Elm Park Florists.

Alex McCULLAGH

Seapoint, Balbriggan, Dublin / Ballybay, Monaghan

McCullagh, Alex, Seapoint, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Mullacroch, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan – 24th June 2024, (peacefully) at his home. Predeceased by his wife Vivien and his brothers George and Raymond. Alex will be lovingly missed by his sons Karl, Timothy and Shane, sister Jean, grandchildren Cillian, Elliott, Taigh and Finn, daughters-in-law Silvia and Malarvilie, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Alex had a sharp sense of humour and a highly inquisitive nature, never short of a question for both friend and stranger.

Reposing at McNally’s Funeral Home, Balbriggan, on Saturday 6th July, from 2pm – 4pm. Removal on Monday 8th July, to St. George's Church of Ireland, Balbriggan, arriving for Funeral Service at 1pm followed by burial in Flemington Cemetery.
