Mary McDermott

(née Greenan)

Kilnavara, Cavan Town, Cavan

Monday, June 24th 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the staff at Cavan General Hospital, after a long illness. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Ellen, her brothers Paddy and Joe, sisters Susan and Bridie.

Beloved wife and best friend of John and devoted mother of Kathleen Synott, Maura Milner, Sean (Seanie) Anthony, Bernie Dunlop, Seamus (Shifty) Claire Corr, and Gráinne Bakarich. Mary will be very sadly missed by her loving family, her adored grandchildren, Amy, Emma, Emily, Katie, Sophie, Seamus, Stefan, Jonah, Lucas, Nadia, John, Toni, Grace, Michael, Danial, Andrew, Amelia and Finnán, her brother Eugene, Manchester, sister in law Bridie, nephews, nieces, cousins, all her relatives and friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan, H12 C821, on Thursday evening from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Friday afternoon to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm via 5 St. Patrick’s Tce., and Wolfe Tone St. Following Mass, the cortege will travel to St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial.

Kathleen O'Connor

(née Gibbons)

The Drumlins, Virginia, Cavan / Kilmessan, Meath

Entered eternal life on 24 June 2024.

The death has occurred peacefully of Kathleen O'Connor (nee Gibbons), at Lisdarn Nursing Home, Cavan, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband William, and her much loved son Paul and brother Seamus. Sadly and sorely missed by her loving sons Derek, Liam and Art, her loving daughters Denise, Louise, Catriona and Lisa, her cherished grandchildren Graham, Kate, Quillan, Conor, Eoin, Emma, Aidan and Cian, her brothers Sean and Eamon, her sisters Maura and Bernie, her sons-in-law, daughters in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Remains reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Wednesday evening from 5 o’clock until prayers at 8 o’clock. Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia on Thursday morning arriving for 11 o’clock Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mickey O’Reilly, Corraweelis, Carrickaboy, Co. Cavan. Tuesday June 25th 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the staff at Cavan General Hospital. Pre deceased by his beloved wife Kathleen. Loving father of Michael (Joanne) Pauline (James) and Diane (Michael). Mickey will be very sadly missed by his loving family, his adored grandchildren, Amy, Jamie, Dylan, Darren, Evan, Emma and Nicole, all his relatives and many, friends.

Birmingham, England and formerly of Tierliffin, Milltown, Belturbet, Cavan / Knockcroghery, Roscommon

LILY ROGERS (née Leddy), Birmingham, England and formerly of Tierliffin, Milltown, Belturbet, Co Cavan. Passed away peacefully on 1st June, 2024 in Birmingham. Beloved wife of the late Dominic (formerly Mote Park/Knockcroghery, Co Roscommon) and much loved mother of Aidan and Martin. She will be forever missed by her family, grandson Jack, daughter-in-law Carmel, nieces, nephews, relatives and her many good friends.

Rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held in St Patrick's Church, Knockcroghery, Co Roscommon (F42 YE68) on Saturday morning, 29th June, 2024 at 11 o’c. Burial afterwards in Gailey Cemetery. Family Flowers only please.

The death has occurred of Lily Rowntree (née Rountree), Fairymount, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, peacefully at Fairlawns Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family, in her 95th year, Tuesday, 25th June, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Billy. Deeply regretted by her daughters, Betty and Daphne. Sadly missed by her sons-in-law Ken and Killian, grandchildren Lynn (Martin) and Andrew (Jennifer), great grandchildren, Luke, Eva, Sarah, Georgia and Reece, sisters-in-law Greta and Lillian, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday, 26th June, from 5pm to 8pm. House private at all other times, please. Funeral service on Thursday, 27th June, in St. Ernan's Church, Kingscourt, at 2pm with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only.

Aidan Deighan, Luton, Bedfordshire, formerly Dooskey, Co. Monagan. Died 17th of June 2024. Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.

Rossdreenagh, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Patsy Markey, Rossdreenagh, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross, Monaghan, unexpectedly but peacefully at The Mater Hospital, Dublin, Monday 24th June 2024. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Kathleen and uncle Conn Markey. Deeply regretted and sadly missed with love by his brothers Eamonn, Enda and Peadar, sisters-in-law Mary, Grainne and Geraldine, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

McCullagh, Alex, Seapoint, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Mullacroch, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan – 24th June 2024, (peacefully) at his home. Predeceased by his wife Vivien and his brothers George and Raymond. Alex will be lovingly missed by his sons Karl, Timothy and Shane, sister Jean, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Silvia and Mal, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Alex had a sharp sense of humour and a highly inquisitive nature, never short of a question for both friend and stranger.

Knockaconny, Monaghan Town, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Kathleen Treanor nee McMahon, Knockaconny, Monaghan. Tuesday 25th June peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her sisters Marie McMahon & Dympna Murray. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband John, daughters Carmel, Margaret, sons Aidan, Gerry & Pauric, grandchildren, daughters in law Kathleen, Brenda & Melissa, sons in law Stephen & Tom, sister Alice Sherlock, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Kathleen's remains will repose at McMahons Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Wednesday from 6pm - 9pm and on Thursday from 5pm - 8pm. Kathleen's home will be strictly private please.

Funeral Mass on Friday morning at 11am at St.Macartan's Cathedral, Monaghan, followed by burial in Latlurcan Cemetery.

Due to the passing of Kathleen, Treanor Quality Meats, Dublin St. Monaghan & Treanor Poultry, Knockaconny will be closed on Friday.
