Appointments and procedures 'going ahead' at CGH
Visitor restrictions imposed last week after Covid outbreak.
Appointments and elective procedures are “going ahead as usual” at Cavan and Monaghan hospitals and people should continue to come to their appointments unless advised otherwise, after an outbreak of COVID-19 in both facilities sparked visiting restrictions last week.
However, patients are asked not to attend the hospital if displying signs and symptoms of COVID-19, or have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting a result.
In the wake of the recent outbreak hospital management had asked that only urgent referrals be sent to the hospitals.
Restrictions on visiting were placed on routine visiting times, maternity visiting, and the paediatric department.
It also impacted critical and compassionate/exceptional circumstances visiting due to end of life care.
There has been no notification to say the restrictions have been lifted.
The Outbreak Committee made the decision having met to ensure all appropriate measures to manage and contain the further spread of infection were in place.
Despite the outbreak the hospital continued to provide full emergency care if required.
