Sunny spells on the way

Sunny spells with light showers, that's the forecast for the weekend.

Rain in the west of Ulster this morning will move slowly eastwards, clearing to sunshine and showers this afternoon. The highest temperatures will be 15 to 19 degrees.

Moderate to fresh southerly winds veering westerly are expected and will moderate as the rain clears.

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells and isolated showers. Lowest temperatures 7 to 9 degrees with light southwesterly breezes.

Saturday will begin with sunny spells and will turn cloudier through the morning with some patchy light rain or drizzle developing. Highest temperatures will be 18 to 22 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly winds.

The national outlook is mainly dry on Saturday night with clear spells and isolated light showers. Lowest temperatures 10 to 12 degrees in light westerly breezes.

Sunny spells are expected on Sunday and will stay mainly dry. Highest temperatures are expected to be 18 to 23 degrees in mostly light southwesterly or variable breezes.

During the night, highest temperatures aren't expected to fall below 12 to 14 degrees and it will stay mainly dry.

A warm day is forecast on Monday with sunny spells. A few showers will likely develop in the afternoon. Highest temperatures will be 20 to 24 degrees generally in light southerly breezes.
